You are invited to explore the early history of North Hastings with an Historical Researcher and Topnymist who has worked with the Geographical Names Board of Canada. This educational program will delve into the Indigenous and settler history of North Hastings as told through early documents, letters, stories and cartography.
This is a family-friendly event that will include special Anishinaabemowin (Algonquin language) programming and storytelling for children. This event is free of charge, and all are welcome to attend.
This special programming will be held on July 22, 2019 from 10:00 AM til 12:00 PM at the Hastings Highlands Public Library, located at 33011 Hwy 62 in Maynooth, Ontario. This program is hosted by the Algonquin Inòdewiziwin EarlyON Team in partnership with Hastings Highlands Public Library.
