North Hastings Children's Services
North Hastings Children’s Services offers several Licensed Child Care Programs.
Licensed Child Care means that a license to operate a day nursery is issued by the Ministry of Children and Youth Services once all operating conditions are met.
Licensed child care is governed by the Day Nurseries Act (DNA) which sets out the ‘rules’ that must be followed. The Day Nurseries Act covers things like nutritional requirements, the amount of physical space needed per child, staffing qualifications, programming requirements, staff to children ratios, health and safety, equipment needed and how to manage children’s behaviours.
